Going further for Odfjell management as with engine upgrades

With an eight-strong tanker fleet, Norway-based Odfjell aims to lead the way in reducing environmental impact. In the face of ever-stricter emissions legislation, they worked with us to carry out efficiency upgrades on their chemical tanker, BOW SUN. 

We made a huge undertaking simple. Previously, an upgrade of this scale would involve Odfjell dealing with many stakeholders. Our all-encompassing engineering and consulting service changed all that. The customer had a single point of contact. And we were able to identify the specific needs and challenges of the job. 

By having complete oversight of the project, we saved the customer time and money. Deploying the right resources at each point to install an upgraded propeller and retune the engine to meet IMO NOx classification, along with a host of other modifications. 

Our engine upgrades have helped Odfjell reduce CO₂ emissions by 3%, while NOx is down by 20%. And this is just the beginning. The success of the upgrades has encouraged Odfjell to continue partnering with us to upgrade its remaining seven ships.
